We decided to start the project by going walkabout in Newcastle upon Tyne to record the sights and sounds of everyday life. This was a good opportunity for everyone to learn how to use the still cameras and a pocket DV camera.

A very productive day
Today learners were very busy out on the streets of Newcastle where they took photos and video of street scenes and some of the very interesting characters they met.
This was followed by a trip to the library for research.
